Thanks Rob

Hi guys - I got some great advice from Rob Cooper (Former fat guy), go check out his blog if your serious about losing weight and for great advice on foods, exercises etc. http://www.formerfatguy.com/weblog/blogger.asp

Firstly he asked me what my starting weight and target weight is - which I did not mention, so here goes, I am starting at 205 pounds (this might not sound like very much, but I'm only 5ft3) and my target weight is 165 - so that's 40 pounds I want...no NEED to loose before December in order to give my girl the present I promised.

I will post some pics on the next entry.

Another thing - Rob encouraged me NOT to follow the blood type diet, so I will NOT be doing that.

I will also list some of the home exercises I'm currently doing, and If you have any suggestions for more home exercises, please post them.

Tired of being fat!!!

Hi, guys – my name is Derrick Steyn – I live in South Africa, I’m 28 years old, I work for a bread company, have an amazing beautiful absolutely stunning girlfriend…and I’m overweight!!!!!!! I have been all my life and I am sick of it!!

This blog is designed to help me, and everybody else out there to choose a diet (or “lifestyle” if you will) and STICK to it – you see, the problem is not the diet, there are fantastic diets out there, I know this – because I’ve been on hundreds of them for at least 2 weeks a piece, the problem lies in sticking to it.

The reason for this urgent need to change is – I feel that my significant other deserves a better looking, healthier more energized me – and the goal is to shoot her a raunchy, sexy calendar by December as a Christmas gift. hehehe

So, I’m starting a diet, a high protein diet, it sounds fun and the food sounds good – (I’m South African, we can’t say no to a braai) and I am going to try to stick to it, I’ll also combine some of the blood type diet suggestions that’s freely available on the net to try and maximize this diet – so anyone who wants to join me and/or help me on this quest, please do it – I believe the more support we have the more likely we are to stick to this dreaded lifestyle change.
So what I’ll do is, I’ll try this diet, do the exercise and post my results on the blog, with photo’s, measurements, weight etc. Please, if anyone wants to join me, or try there own diet or weight loss style, please feel free to do so and post your results on this blog – let’s keep each other motivated.

If anyone has any tips or cheats, exercise, pills or anything they would like me to try – I will do it and post the results on the blog.
